animal & farm experiences
Our animals
Here at Westerton we’re delighted to offer a range of animal experiences for visitors to enjoy. Meet our lovely alpacas, Ravi and Punta (keep an eye out for the chance to walk our boys). Our Pygmy/Cashmere goats are always a hit, full of character and endlessly entertaining. You can meet them up close in their field during one of our Meet Our Animals experiences. We’re also home to an amazing flock of chickens, with a mix of different breeds and more joining us soon!
We run a variety of seasonal animal experiences throughout the year. These include Spring Hatchling Helpers at Westerton, Adult-Only Goat Yoga, and our Little Farmers Club during the summer months. Keep your eyes peeled for new experiences and maybe… a few more animals arriving in the future!

Farm Tours
We offer a range of tours at Westerton which can be tailored to suit your group size and the time you have available to spend with us. You will learn about our crops, soils, animals and market garden – as well as get an insight into how we use our products in our farm café.
We have options to add on lunches, cuppas, cakes and other speakers so please get in touch with Fiona to tell us more about your requirements. We can accommodate groups up to 40 and have plenty of parking on site, as well as accessible toilets.

Camping At Westerton
Stay overnight with us at our rustic camping area nestled just beyond our polytunnels with a beautiful view of the Grampian hills and our friendly animals.
Perfect as a base to explore the Howe O’ the Mearns or the wider Aberdeenshire and Angus areas, our camp out area is on grass suitable for tents and tentboxes. If the weather has been favourable then we can allow campervans as well but please get in touch before booking a campervan stay to check with us.
We have toilet and drinking water facilities available 24/7. Our farm café and shop – Farm To Table – is open 7 days a week serving up a seasonally changing breakfast and lunch menu, home bakes, teas and coffee.
Check out our availability and book your camping pitch below.
Learn With Us
Are you a school, nursery or home educator looking for a farm experience? A one off or a regular slot? Do you want your group to visit us and learn more about farming and food? Get in touch!
We love hosting visits, and are flexible with what we can weave into your time with us. We work closely with Oakley ASN and ADHD Adventures to bring on farm experiences to their service users and are always happy to look at ways we can encourage children and young people on to the farm to learn, upskill, and benefit from time outdoors surrounded by animals and fresh air.
Get in touch with Fiona to enquire about bringing your school or service to Westerton.
Walks At Westerton
We are very lucky to be situated in the heart of the beautiful Howe o' The Mearns with some beautiful scenery towards the Cairn o' Mount and Angus Glens to the west and the Garvock Hill towards the coast to the east.
Take advantage of the scenery and get a breath of fresh air and exercise in the countryside by following one of our farm walks...
